 Bio

Alfred Plamann is President of Plamann & Associates, LLC.  He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified Grocers, Inc. from February 1994 until 2013.  Previously, Plamann served as Vice-President at Grocers Specialty Company, as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Certified Grocers of California and as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Certified Grocers. He also served in an executive capacity with Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO).

Plamann served as Chairman of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America. He has been a Director of National Consumer Cooperative Bank (DC) since 2008 and Vice Chair of the Economic Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since June 2010. He has been Member of Economic Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since April 2009. He served as Director of National Consumer Cooperative Bank since 2003. Plamann served as Director of the National American Wholesale Grocers Association (NAWGA) and the California Grocers Association (CGA) and has served on the Board of Directors of several of the Unified’s subsidiaries. Plamann serves as a Member of the Industry Relations Committee of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI). He serves as a Board Member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town Hall of Los Angeles and Member of Board of Visitors at George L. Graziadio School of Business & Management, Pepperdine University, the Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Weingart Center.

Plamann holds a B.S. in Accounting and Real Estate from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).

The Weingart Center for the Homeless provides comprehensive human services to homeless men, women, veterans, parolees, families, HIV+ and other at-risk individuals, giving them the skills, resources, and hope they need to lead productive lives off the streets. Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row, the Weingart Center for the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
