Yvette Merritt

Director, Human Resources 

Yvette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills, and is a Certified Human Resources Professional.

Yvette Merritt has worked for the Weingart Center Association since January 2, 1990. When she began her tenure with the Weingart, she worked in several different capacities from Executive Assistant to Development Associate, to Benefits & Payroll Administrator, to Personnel Services Manager for over 8 years, to finally being appointed Director of Human Resources in 2011.

Prior to joining the Weingart Center, she worked in the Aerospace industry (RAND & R&D Associates) for many years in an administrative capacity while completing her Bachelor’s program. She also worked for Josephson/Kluwer Bar Review Center as Executive Assistant (to Ethics Expert, Michael Josephson) before the business closed.

Outside interests include singing, writing (1 book published), music festivals, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

The Weingart Center for the Homeless provides comprehensive human services to homeless men, women, veterans, parolees, families, HIV+ and other at-risk individuals, giving them the skills, resources, and hope they need to lead productive lives off the streets. Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row, the Weingart Center for the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
