Whether you want to make a financial investment online, by phone, mail, stock transfer or other means, or by contributing an item or investing your time, we appreciate your willingness to improve Los Angeles. Here are a few ways you can help the Weingart Program transform homeless and at-risk individuals into productive members of society. Please feel free to contact our Development Department: call 213-627-5302 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Investments Over Donations
Having nearly 51,000 homeless people on any given night, Los Angeles is the “Homeless Capital of the Country”. Donations are a temporary fix. Investment in a person’s human potential is a permanent solution that benefits the entire city.
Investments from private individuals, foundations and corporations help transition men, women, families and veterans back into society with the basic skills necessary to stabilize their lives, secure income, find permanent housing, and ultimately, become productive fellow citizens.
Life Skills, Not Hand Outs
The Weingart Program is much more than a homeless shelter, offering a bed for a night and a meal for the hungry— We offer a structured environment for individuals wanting to turn their lives around. We provide participants with housing for up to two years, access to medical treatment, mental health services, substance abuse recovery, life skills courses, education and workforce development. We address all the barriers preventing someone from leading a productive life off the streets.
“If you do everything your program tells you to do, there’s no way you can lose,” says Samuel, a participant in our Veterans program who is now working as a security guard in Beverly Hills.
Investing in People is Investing in LA
Your investment in the Weingart Program is an investment in your city. We invite you to join us in transforming lives and changing the streets of Skid Row. Your investments provide critical services and resources that directly influence the success of our participants, and the betterment of our community.
“I was given one last chance,” says Perry, a former participant who graduated in 1999. “The Weingart Program gave me that complete transition— from treatment to my own place…and now, everything about my life is going great.”
You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your investment.
