Central City Recovery (Operated by Volunteers of America Los Angeles) is a residential substance abuse treatment center providing co-occurring substance abuse services including assessments, individual and group counseling, therapy, treatment planning, case management and referrals for mental and medical health, transitional housing options, linkage to community resources and ongoing care. A trauma informed care approach along with motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy is utilized in all services provided. Program emphasis includes alcohol & drug education, relapse prevention, anger management, domestic violence, trauma informed therapy, life skills and healthy living education. Length of stay ranges from 30 to 120 days depending on medical necessity and the need of a controlled environment to establish a foundation for recovery. All potential patients must have or qualify for Medi-Cal or My Health LA coverage within Los Angeles County. Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria: be over 18 years of age, have an imminent need for substance-use disorder treatment, and be comfortable in a multicultural setting with individuals of diverse ethnicities and lifestyles.
