Our Clinical Services Department provides both Weingart Center and community clients with substance abuse and mental health services. The services include individual and group therapy sessions focusing on issues such as trauma, domestic violence, grief, loss and substance abuse. A 16-week intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program is offered based on the Matrix Model. The Clinical Department also provides:
Substance Abuse Treatment and HIV/AIDS Services increases access to HIV testing, substance abuse treatment and mental health services for high-risk populations living in Skid Row. This program is operated in partnership with the JWCH Institute.
Seeking Safety is a treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse. This group addresses healthy relationships, safe coping skills, and understanding the link between substance abuse and PTSD.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy teaches mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills and distress tolerance skills.
Batterers Intervention Program is a 52-week, probation department approved program. The Clinical Services department has an established Intern Training program for MSW, MFT and PsyD graduate students at UCLA, USC, Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Los Angeles and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Center for Community Health provides integrated health care for homeless and indigent residents of Los Angeles’ Skid Row. Operated by the JWCH Institute and the LA County Department of Health Services, services include medical, dental, optometry, mental health services and more.
