Monica Guthrie-Davis 
Vice President - Programs & Services

Monica Guthrie-Davis has over 18 years of success-driven experience with program development, design, and management of low-income and homeless populations in housing and service delivery. She started her career with United States Veterans Initiative, Inc. (U.S. VETS) in 1994 in President Clinton’s Domestic Peace Corps, AmeriCorps Program. After completing 10 months of service, she joined the staff permanently as the Director of the Outreach Department and the Forensic & Legal Advocacy Program until 2006. She worked as the Chief Operations Officer with the Solutions Alcohol & Drug Recovery Foundation to launch a Drug Medi-Cal and Behavioral Modification program for youth in the foster care system in 2007.

She became the Programs Unit Manager for Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority in 2010, a Joint Powers Authority for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles Mayor and City Council overseeing over 100 contracts for chronically homeless and single adults including specialized areas of substance abuse and domestic violence. Since 2012, she has been with the Weingart Center Association, currently as the Vice President of Programs and Services providing housing to single men and women including chronically homeless, veterans, parolees, probationers, youth and families including supportive services, ie, employment and training, substance abuse treatment, mental services, legal, temporary rental assistance, etc.

Before her career in homeless services, she worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC for eight (8) years for two (2) members of Congress, then Senator Albert Gore, Jr. (TN) and former Senator Christopher J. Dodd (CT) after completing her education at Tennessee State University with Bachelors in English with concentration on Literature. She has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; proven performance results through innovative execution that includes strong community relationships and collaborations, public relations, budgeting and management, project management, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual and public speaking.

She is the daughter of a 30 year retired fighter pilot of United States Air Force and high school educator and coach. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., currently holding the position as Treasurer. She was the recipient of Unsung Hero Award at the 2001 National Coalition for Homeless Veterans Annual Conference in Washington, DC. She is currently married to retired Sgt. Marcus O. Davis of National Guard, Field Artillery Unit and they have one son, Marsalis.
