A Tribute to Transformation Event Celebrates Weingart Center Association’s 25^th Anniversary

An Inspirational Fundraiser Benefits the Weingart Center Association, an Organization that Helps Homeless Individuals Lead Self-Sufficient Lives

Los Angeles, Calif., October 1, 2009 —  The inspirational fundraiser, A Tribute to Transformation, celebrates the Weingart Center Association's 25th Anniversary and its rich history of helping Los Angeles’ homeless men and women completely transform their lives and become self-sufficient members of the community.  The event will be held on Sunday, November, 2009 at the Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE.  

A Tribute to Transformation will feature entertainment by special surprise guests, gourmet food by Wolfgang Puck and stories of transformation. The event will honor Councilwoman Jan Perry for her ongoing efforts to improve the downtown community, as well as current and past Board members and past executives of the Weingart Center.  

A Tribute to Transformation will be hosted by AEG in conjunction with its Season of Giving campaign; Remake My Life, a women’s empowerment movement and soon-to-be reality show; and the Weingart Partners, a dynamic volunteer group.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Weingart Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers transitional residential housing, medical and mental health treatment, substance abuse recovery, education, workforce development, and long-term case management to help homeless individuals stabilize their lives, secure income and find permanent housing. 

“The A Tribute to Transformation event is designed not only to raise much needed funds for the critical work we do in serving the homeless men and women of Los Angeles,” states Gregory C. Scott, President and CEO of the Weingart Center, “but to also honor the incredible transformations we have seen over our 25 years.  It’s powerful and inspiring to see— day to day and over many months— total life transformations unfold before your eyes.”
