Veterans Day 2012

Seated in long, decorated tables along in a large tent behind the Weingart Café, eighty men and women from our Veterans Program gathered to celebrate their service and dedication. Braxton Young, Veterans Program Manager, led the morning program as the Jefferson High School ROTC Color Guard represented and Weingart Staff sang the National Anthem.

James Nash, a former homeless man and Veteran, spoke to the crowd about confidence, perseverance, and respect. “You are a vet!” he shouted. “And nobody can take that away from you. Today, we honor the following Veterans for their service to the Armed Forces of the United States of America and for their ongoing pursuit of personal growth.”
