Weingart Center and USC Viterbi: a win-win for everyone
As an organization committed to the bonds of community and a better future, Weingart Center is always delighted to partner with others, especially students. After all, the students of today are the civic leaders of tomorrow.
That’s why we’re always glad to host groups of students from the USC Viterbi Engineering in Society Program (“EiS”) to tour the Hilda L. Solis Care First Village. The EiS program helps students link their engineering practice with issues of communication, ethics, and societal impact.
Impact is what The Hilda L. Solis Care First Village is all about, as one of Weingart Center’s interim housing solutions designed to help end homelessness in Los Angeles.
Viterbi students who tour the Village are tasked to come up with ideas for improvements in the center — and ways to add to the lives of those who live there.
Now, that’s community partnership.
Students in the USC Viterbi Engineering in Society Program tour Weingart Center’s Hilda L. Solis Care First Village as part of efforts to propose further improvements in the center and in the lives of those who live there.
