The 4 main types of housing for the homeless explained.

Lisa Halverstadt at Voice of San Diego explains the differences in housing opportunities for the homeless. This explanation helps counter the confusion that sometimes fuels community opposition to projects intended to assist homeless populations.

Halverstadt lists four kinds of homeless housing:

  1. Shelters

  2. Transitional Housing

  3. Permanent Supportive Housing

  4. Affordable Housing.
