New Hope for Santa Monica Boulevard

Nearly 70,000 Angelenos live without housing in Los Angeles. There’s an obvious need, which is why Weingart Center has built and recently opened 11010 smB, offering permanent supportive housing for seniors and senior veterans, giving dignity and hope back to people without a home.

Our 51-unit development on Santa Monica Boulevard offers a fully furnished, pet-friendly chance to turn life around and break the cycle of hopelessness. Seniors and veterans get the stability of a home, not just a cot in the corner, but a real home that they can use to build a new life. With that home comes a healthy community with licensed professionals who are guides for life skills, better choices, legal referrals, benefits assistance, and even help with transportation.

While homelessness and encampments have become a huge problem in the LA area, the ways to help haven’t always been so obvious. The new smB housing aligns perfectly with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ initiative to reduce homelessness in the area.

Homelessness happens and persists for many different reasons. It’s a complex issue, so we’ve developed a full spectrum of programs and services to address each person experiencing homelessness’ individual burdens.

Be a Weingart Warrior - how you can help:

A shave, a shower, a pot of coffee, a clean blanket, a freshly cooked meal: these are all things we take for granted that make us feel human. You can personally make a difference by helping the new 11010 smB residents feel more at home.

Purchase a Welcome Home Kit today to ease someone’s transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. You can choose to purchase curated bedroom kits, kitchen kits, or even a full kit that gifts new residents everything they’ll need day-to-day in their new homes.

The more warriors, the merrier

We make it easy for communities and groups to get involved and be part of a compassionate solution.

Weingart recently partnered with the LA Rams Cheer team for their Salute to Service Week efforts, who successfully put together kits for 50 veterans moving into 11010 smB.

We also partnered with Webcor Builders on 550 Hygiene kit donations.

If you’re interested in putting together a large group to help give back to your community, reach out to development@weingart.org for more info.
