Together We Can! -- A message from Weingart's President & CEO
Dear friend and neighbor,
With documented cases in every state of the United States, it comes as no surprise that the coronavirus has affected us all. We’ve witnessed school and business closures, forced layoffs, and more. The coronavirus has not only caused a collective shift in how we interact with each other, it has also affected local and national nonprofits as they struggle to meet clients’ needs.
While this silent pandemic continues to strain valuable resources both here and abroad, our battle cry cannot be louder. Together, through strength, perseverance, and direct action, we are making a difference in ending this pandemic.
Early in the pandemic, The Weingart Center took a front seat in the battle against the coronavirus by putting into place protocols set forth by the Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control so that we could continue to offer comprehensive human services to our most vulnerable neighbors. Despite the many challenges we face, our devotion to our clients and the homeless population-at-large has remained as steadfast as ever. However, due to the increased cost of staffing coupled with wavering supplies, The Weingart Center is passionately reaching out to you for help.
Gov. Gavin Newsom estimates up to 60,000 of California’s 150,000 homeless individuals could end up infected due to a lack of proper shelter. We cannot allow this to happen!
Your contribution will help ensure that The Weingart Center can live up to its mission by providing homeless individuals with the basic skills and tools necessary to stabilize their lives and find permanent housing—even during this time of uncertainty.
It’s not just a donation. It’s an investment.
Please take a moment to make a donation today. Your generous contribution will enable us to keep fighting for the health, education, and well-being our most vulnerable neighbors.
Together, we can break the cycle of homelessness; together, we can beat this pandemic.
Sincerely,
Senator Kevin Murray (ret.)
President and Chief Executive Officer
